Hello!
Each week we will post the titles of the books read in storytime, as well as some lyrics, sound files, and instructions on how to do the fingerplays at home. This week we are celebrating the cold weather with a storytime all about "winter fun."

FINGERPLAYS

MITTEN WEATHER
Thumb in the thumb place (thumbs up with both hands)
Fingers all together (hold fingers together like in mittens with thumbs out)
That is the song
We sing in winter weather

FIVE LITTLE SNOWMEN
Five Little Snowmen all in a row (hold up 5 fingers)
Each with a hat (pat top of head)
And a big red bow (pull at neck like making a bowtie)
Out came the sun (arms form big circle over head)
And it stayed out all day (lean to right)
And all of the snowmen melted away (droop like melting)

I love this blog! What a great idea! Logan and I used to come home from lapsit loving what we had done, but I always forgot the words to the songs and fingerplays to sing them with him at home...now I can use them over and over. We all know how children love routine and that repetition is one of the keys to learning. Now I can reinforce what we learned at lapsit here at home. Thanks!
